How to Properly Document Discipline and Termination Decisions So They Will Stand Up in Court

You hear it all the time-you'll win in court with good documentation, but with poor documentation, you will surely lose. Indeed, properly documenting discipline and termination decisions can not only help you win in court, it can also help you avoid going to court in the first place by acting as a deterrent to frivolous lawsuits. In this Webinar, you will learn:

  • How to ensure your policies and procedures protect your organization against discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
  • How to keep your documentation, such as offer letters and handbooks, from becoming legally binding contracts
  • Establishing documentation procedures for progressive discipline plans, employee coaching, and other corrective action
  • How to properly prepare a performance evaluation
  • Avoiding admissions in documentation that can later hurt you in court
  • Document-retention requirements-how long must you keep documents and when should you destroy them?
  • How to respond to EEO charges
